Who catches the ball?

Anyone who has played team sports knows that you never say “yours” but rather “mine,” indicating to your teammates that you are taking responsibility for that ball. The great Maurizia Cacciatori tells of an episode during practice when she and her teammate stood still while receiving, and the ball ended up between them without either making a move, prompting the coach’s obvious reaction. So, if it can happen to champions, imagine in a company.
It’s rare to hear “mine” in a company, unless it’s to mark territory. So, how do you ensure the thought isn’t “yours”? It’s not an issue of individual motivation but rather one of organization and team motivation.
